Las Hijas de Terracota,
El ejército de niñas creado por Prune Nourry Art en
Anahuacalli
After being presented in Shanghai, Paris and New York,
the army of 108 sculptures of Prune Nourry execute his new trip to Mexico.
These sculptures, created in collaboration with crafstman from Xi'an, suggest
us a powerful reflection on the impact of gender selection in China. Exhibited
for the last time, the Terracotta Daughters will be buried soon in China to
give birth to a contemporary archaeological site. Indeed, the artist hopes that
these sculptures were unearthed in 2030, a key date for sociologists who
estimate that men will have some difficulties to get married because there will
be a shortage of women in their country.
